FAQs

Why is smoke and a burning smell coming from the hot plate during the first use?
This is completely normal. The manufacturer applies a protective oil coating to the steel coil during production. When heated for the first time, this oil burns off, causing brief smoke or a mild odor. It should stop completely after running the unit on maximum heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
Can I use any type of pot or pan on this hot plate?
No. You must use flat-bottomed cookware made of heat-conductive metal (like stainless steel, cast iron, or aluminum). Avoid cookware with rounded, concave, or ridged bottoms, as they will not touch the coil evenly, leading to poor heating. Glass and ceramic pots are also not recommended.
How much electricity does it consume?
It consumes 1000 watts per hour when running continuously at maximum heat. If you use it for one hour a day at full blast, it will use exactly 1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity daily.
Why does the indicator light keep turning on and off while I am cooking?
The built-in auto-thermostat causes this cycle. Once the burner reaches the temperature set by your dial, it temporarily shuts off to prevent overheating. It switches back on automatically when the temperature drops, maintaining a consistent heat level.
