Understanding from the inside
For years, the business grew through direct market experience. That meant understanding products from the inside out. What customers value most after purchase. What details matter in everyday use.
Tano didn't start yesterday.
For over 10 years, the work was already happening—real products, real customers, real supply challenges, and real responsibility. The business has been operating as German Plus for over a decade—a wholesale supplier trusted by retailers across Ghana.
We built reputation the traditional way: through consistency, through word of mouth, through wholesale buyers who ordered once and came back because what they received matched what they were promised.
WHAT'S NEW IS TANO
Tano brings what German Plus has always offered to a wider audience: the same suppliers, the same quality checks, the same standards—now available to wholesale buyers and individual customers alike.
WE DIDN'T START WITH A WEBSITE.

02
Learning what separates a product that performs from one that just looks good. Quality isn't just about the visible parts--it's about consistency, durability, and whether a product lives up to its promise in real conditions.

We went from checking from a distance to reading more. There is only so much you can confirm through messages, photos, or promises.
At some point, checking from a distance wasn't enough. There's only so much you can confirm through messages, photos, or promises.
So we made a decision: go to the factories personally.
For checking products directly at the source--before they move through too many hands and too many chances for small problems to become customer problems. Traveling to where products are made changed the standard completely.
The process became more direct.
The checking became more serious.
The margin for unnoticed issues became smaller.
That step came from experience, not theory.
Here's what guides us:
We only import products people love and thank us for, from suppliers people thank us for.
If something goes wrong--if quality drops or feedback turns negative--we stop. Even if there's profit in it. We'd rather lose the margin than lose the trust.
“The items feel like they came straight from the factory, not like they passed through another hand first”
That matters because it means something simple: The products are handled with care, not just moved from one place to another. For us, this was never about making things look premium in pictures. It was about making sure products reach people in the condition they should have reached them in from the beginning.
For years, German Plus served wholesale buyers across Ghana. That continues. But it was time to open a direct channel--so the same quality that wholesale buyers trust can reach everyone.
It's not about replacing what works. It's about making it accessible to more people.
Of course, expanding digitally creates new challenges, but we're prepared -- with stronger operations, closer follow-up, better coordination, and a team built to handle growth without losing control over the details.
