How long does it take to boil a full 3.0-liter pot?

With its 1500-watt heating element, a completely full kettle takes approximately 8 to 11 minutes to reach a rolling boil. Boiling smaller amounts of water will significantly decrease this wait time.

Does it stay hot after boiling, or turn off automatically?

The kettle features an automatic safety shut-off. It will click off immediately once the water reaches its boiling point. It does not function as a vacuum flask to keep water piping hot for 24 hours unless explicitly stated on specific dual-layer insulating models.

What is the brown/white buildup at the bottom, and is it rust?

No, it is usually not rust. White flaky crusts or brown spots at the bottom are limescale deposits caused by minerals in hard water. Pour equal parts water and white vinegar into the kettle, bring it to a boil, let it sit for 15 minutes, and scrub gently with a soft sponge before rinsing thoroughly.

Can I plug this into any standard home outlet or extension cord?
