FAQs

What types of pots and pans work best on this hot plate?
Any cookware with a completely flat bottom works best. You can use stainless steel, cast iron, copper, aluminum, or ceramic cookware. Avoid pots with rounded or ridged bottoms, as they will take much longer to heat up.
Why is there smoke and a smell the very first time I turn it on?
This is normal. The manufacturing process leaves a protective oil coating on the iron plates. When heated for the first time, this coating burns off, creating a small amount of smoke and a distinct odor. It will completely disappear after 3 to 5 minutes of use.
Why does the indicator light keep turning on and off?
The light turns on and off to indicate that the internal thermostat is working. Once the plate reaches your selected heat setting, the power cycles off to prevent overheating. It automatically cycles back on when the temperature drops.
How long does it take to cool down completely?
Solid cast-iron heating plates retain heat for a long time. It can take 15 to 20 minutes for the burners to cool down completely after you turn them off. You can actually use this residual heat to keep your food warm without consuming more electricity.
